The word "imagination" and "pretend play" evoke classic children's games, where children play with dolls, little girls pretend to be their mothers, dress up as princesses, and boys move trucks and occupy objects and whole "lands" with battles of pirates. And while young children spend most of their time in the realm of imagination, imagination is not reserved for only children's play. It is through the development of children's imaginations that people in adult life are able to subsequently perform many of the tasks that life requires. Adults are constantly using their imagination to help and enable them to invent new things, visualize and solve problems, enjoy reading books or watching movies, understand the perspective of others, make plans, or more simply, figure out what needs to be done, come up with ideas and think creatively. No wonder Albert Einstein shared the idea that " imagination" is more important than knowledge.
