“Knock, knock. Who’s there?”

Oil and acrylic on canvas

size 60 x 60 cm

no frame

When I painted this picture, I often thought of Charlie Mackesy's book "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse". It's about their adventures that take place in spring, where one minute snow is falling and the next the sun is shining, which is a bit like life - it can change in an instant. The author hopes the book will give you the courage to live with more kindness to yourself as well as to others, and the courage to ask for help when you need it - which always requires bravery, as he reminds us. And so the horse says, "The truth is, we all improvise a little."

And so I wish that for those who find their way to this painting, this painting in turn will help them open doors to wherever they need to go, and beyond them to find whomever they need to find.

PS: What or who do you think is waiting for our goose inside the room?
