How many empires do not know about us.

Timothée de Fombelle, Vango

I was inspired to paint this painting by the book Vango written by my very favourite writer Timothée de Fombell. It offers a gripping story of a boy whose life is shrouded in mystery and who wears a scarf with the inscription "How many realms do not know about us" and it is this phrase that can fully capture the mood of the whole book and, to my mind, the content of the painting and what lies beyond it.
